On August 11 and 12, students involved in the OLMC Music Program came together for two intensive days of rehearsals in preparation for our Celebration Concert, titled ‘Childhood Reflections’ held Tuesday evening this week. While rehearsing was at the focus of the two days, students also had the opportunity to reflect on their own childhood memories and the music, movies and moments that have shaped them.
The rehearsal days were filled with collaboration, creativity and plenty of fun. Students took part in group challenges designed to encourage them to meet new people, including trivia and creating newspaper fashion, before coming together as a giant ensemble to rehearse our exciting finale, Dynamite! The Mercedes Hogan Theatre stage was certainly full!
It was wonderful to see the dedication, focus and enthusiasm shown by our students throughout the two days. We were particularly proud to see senior students step into leadership roles, leading rehearsals and supporting their ensembles while demonstrating the confidence and skills that will serve them well into the future.
Congratulations to every student who participated across the two days. The progress made was enormous, and we hope they all feel incredibly proud of what they achieved together.
