OLMCBI 209

A huge congratulations to our talented and courageous students and their dedicated teachers on another successful OLMC Art Show and the opening of the Caldow Collection! We are incredibly proud of the outstanding work produced this year and the creative risks our students took in sharing their ideas and artistic vision.

The event also showcased the wonderful Mercy hospitality provided by our Year 10 Food Production and Design students and staff. Food Assistants Marisa Brazzale and Janine Kerr played an essential role in ensuring our guests felt welcomed and well cared for throughout the event.

The artworks on display represent just one part of the creative process our students undertake. Through the design thinking framework, students make their creative development visible by investigating ideas, generating possibilities and considering how their work will connect with audiences, respond to client needs and communicate meaning. They also explore the environmental, economic and social impacts of their creations, helping them articulate the intentions and processes behind their work.

Bringing the Art Show to life requires considerable teamwork, collaboration and dedication by all the DAT staff. We love this chance to celebrate the achievements and efforts of our students. Our Design, Art and Technology (DAT) technician, Liam Milner, in particular has used his curatorial skills to ensure students’ work was presented thoughtfully and creatively.

Congratulations to all students whose work was exhibited, with special recognition to our 2026 Subject Award winners!
