Our Year 9 to 12 students are currently exploring the below topics in our Religious Education classes:
Year 9: Female Prophets of the Hebrew Scriptures
Our Year 9 students are diving into the Hebrew Scriptures with a focus on powerful female figures, particularly Ruth and Deborah. Through these studies, students are examining the vital leadership, courage, and faith these women demonstrated in their communities. It’s been inspiring to see students connect these ancient biblical narratives to timeless lessons on loyalty, justice, and resilience.
Year 12: Ethical Issues Group Presentations
In Year 12, students are kicking off a major focus for the term: their Ethical Issues Group Presentations. Working collaboratively, each group has selected a contemporary ethical dilemma in society, ranging from fast fashion and environmental sustainability to social justice issues. They are actively researching diverse perspectives, applying ethical frameworks, and designing engaging presentations to teach their peers.
We encourage you to chat with your Year 12 student about the issue their group selected; discussing these big questions at home is a great way to help them sharpen their arguments and perspectives!
Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning journey.
