This week, our focus in Senior House has been to farewell our Year 12 students as they conclude their journey at OLMC.
The celebrations began on Monday 13 October with the sun shining out on Maryland. It was great to see the old primary school uniforms, ice creams on the oval with friends and an OLMC institution - one last game of mat ball between the Houses.
On Tuesday we came together for our final House Assemblies, where students gathered as proud members of McAuley, Mercy, Loreto, and Carmel for the last time. These assemblies were filled with reflection and gratitude, as students looked back on their years within their House communities and the friendships and memories that have shaped their time at the College.
As the week unfolded, our Year 12s embraced their final days with enthusiasm and creativity. Each day brought new themed dress-ups, from the ever-popular ‘Dynamic Duos’ to ‘Favourite Childhood Characters,’ filling the school with colour, laughter, and a strong sense of community spirit. Students enjoyed shared lunches, ice creams, hits from 2020-2025 being played instead of the bells, and plenty of photo opportunities to capture these special moments. Thank you to the team of people behind the scenes who made these events possible.
As we farewell the Class of 2025, we celebrate their resilience, leadership, and contributions to our community. They have shown great spirit, embodying the values of courage, justice, joy, and compassion - the cornerstones of being part of a Mercy school.
We wish each student every success and happiness as they step into the next exciting chapter of their lives, carrying with them the friendships, values, and memories of their time at OLMC.
