From the very beginning of this year, we set out with a challenge - not just for our community, but for ourselves. A call to step beyond what feels comfortable, to lead with conviction, and to recognise the strengths that make each of us who we are.
This year, we watched courage take shape in ways both expected and unseen - in the student who asked a question no one else dared to, in the person who stayed behind to help tidy after an event, and in those who shared an idea that challenged the way we usually do things. These moments reminded us that bravery isn’t always loud or flashy - sometimes, it’s found in the choices that quietly make a difference.
One of the year’s most unforgettable moments that truly embodied this spirit was Mercy Day, a reminder of the legacy we carry and the values that unite us. Through the food stalls, the vibrant activities, and the amazing house performances, your energy and joy brought our Mercy tradition to life, showing that Catherine McAuley’s purpose continues to shine through every one of us. Thanks to your creativity and contributions, we raised an incredible amount for MercyWorks - a true testament to our community’s spirit and kindness.
As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to Ms Koenig-Doig, Ms Edwards, Mr Taylor, and Ms Weir for their tireless support and guidance throughout our roles this year. We also thank our SRCs, and especially the Year 12 student leadership team, for their dedication in representing their peers and making each moment memorable. We are incredibly proud to pass the torch to next year’s student leadership team, who have already shown remarkable passion and commitment to our school community. We are confident they will lead with integrity, creativity, and a strong sense of unity, and we look forward to seeing all that they achieve in 2026!
And to every student who placed their trust in us - thank you. Every smile, every conversation, every act of kindness reminded us why leadership is, at its core, about community. We have been so incredibly thankful to have been able to lead you all, and wish you the best for the rest of your amazing journeys.
As we close, our message to you remains the same:
Don’t be afraid. Go and be.
Step beyond what feels safe. Take the risk to speak, to create, to try, and to explore - because that’s where you’ll find courage, growth, and discovery.
Here’s to a year defined by courage, connection, and community.
With gratitude,
